Maintained the control environment, SOX narratives, and reviewed the annual SOX testing for the 3 business units. Performed actual vs. budget and actual vs. estimate analysis.• Instituted operational efficiencies and controls into the cash application processes of a newly managed business unit. The accuracy of the entry was 100%, and the time to create the entry was reduced from 2 days to 2 hours.• Created SOX narratives for the new business unit. These narratives removed ambiguity from the day to day operations of the business unit, and allowed the accounting staff to rely on operational reporting for the month end close process.• Developed and implemented processes for revenue recognition of newly developed software. This new revenue stream for the business unit complied with GAAP.• Designed and recommended system enhancements that created a sub-ledger for unapplied cash for the newly managed business unit (currently in development). This is projected to save the accounting department 10 hours during month-end close and save the cash application department 16 hours a month.• Coordinated the annual physical inventory for multiple distribution centers.
