    • CT Inclusive Arts

      Jul 2018 - Sept 2021
Founder, Executive Director, CT Inclusive Arts

In the summer of 2018, I established an advisory committee of local performing arts and development professionals and established CT Inclusive Arts, LLC with fiscal sponsorship via Fractured Atlas. We secured program partnerships with Hartford Stage, The American School for the Deaf, The Ethel Walker School, Conard High School along with many other community contributors. We ran a successful pilot program of students in the spring of 2019 and then launched our full program in the fall of 2019. Our mission was to profoundly influence youth of all abilities and the Greater Hartford community through an innovative and inclusive performing and visual arts education program that culminated in a major public performance. Our production, entitled BELIEVE was scheduled for March 21, 2020 and was cancelled due to COVID restrictions. In response, we offered virtual programming through our partner, FreeHorse Arts and an in-person summer program in August 2021 before ending our offerings due to environmental and economic constraints. One of the major inspirations for our work came from LIVE ART, a groundbreaking inclusive arts education program created in 2012 by Erin Thomas-Foley and founded by SPARC, a performing arts school in Richmond, VA. The program was designed for students of all abilities culminating in a much anticipated major public performance. To learn more visit: www.ctinclusivearts.org Show less
