      Mission et objectifsNé en 1988 du regroupement de chercheurs spécialisés sur l'Asie, le Groupe d'études et de recherche sur l'Asie contemporaine (GÉRAC) vise à promouvoir tout un panel d'activités universitaires se rapportant aux problématiques de l'Asie contemporaine, et plus spécifiquement à l'émergence économique des pays asiatiques. Le GÉRAC est rattaché à l'Institut québécois des hautes études internationales depuis 1994. Les objectifsPromouvoir et réaliser des activités de recherches sur l'Asie, tout particulièrement sur l'émergence économique des pays asiatiques ainsi que ses conséquences politiques, sociales et culturelles. Assurer à l'Université Laval en priorité, mais aussi à l'extérieur de l'Université, la formation de personnes intéressées à l'Asie. Sensibiliser et informer la population sur les réalités du monde asiatique. Développer des partenariats et des synergies avec les institutions de recherche canadiennes et étrangères travaillant sur l'Asie. La recherche et la diffusion de ses résultats constituent le champ d'activité privilégié par le groupe (colloques, tables rondes, séminaires thématiques).Le volet formation tient également un rôle très important dans les activités du groupe. Ingestion of untreated water may pose a health risk to the residents of R3C. The proposed study aims to develop a household water treatment system for the effective removal of commonly-found contaminants from the source water of rural communities in interior British Columbia (BC).
