      Section Commander (Op LASER 20-01)

      Employed as a section commander on Operation LASER 20-01 the Canadian Armed Forces response to the COVID-19 pandemic during its height in 2020. During the operation, my platoon was placed under collective quarantine for a month in Vernon Military Camp to serve as a healthy quick reaction force responsible for providing assistance in care homes and natural disaster relief if a request for assistance was to be made by the province of British Columbia. While in quarantine, my duties included:- Managed the discipline, administration, and welfare of eight soldiers in my section- Assisted the platoon commander in the planning of training for 30 soldiers within my platoon- Trained soldiers on the Tactical Armoured Patrol Vehicle (TAPV) and its employment on natural disaster response operations Show less

      Information Activities Liaison Officer (Op REASSURANCE 23-01 Task Force Wolverines)

      Deployed to Operation Reassurance 23-01 with Task Force Wolverines as a member of the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battlegroup Latvia (eFP BG LVA). As the Battlegroup's Information Activities Liaison Officer (IALO), I worked in the S9 (Civil Military Cooperation) Branch of Battlegroup Headquarters. Working closely with the both the branch chief and deputy officer within a multinational setting, I participated in the planning and execution of engagement activities to bolster public support for the NATO mission aimed to deter and if necessary defend Latvia against Russian aggression. My duties included:- Participated in the planning and execution of visits to Adazi Military Base by high ranking NATO military and government officials- Participated in the planning and execution of public engagement activities involving equipment and personnel from eFP BG LVA in major towns and cities throughout Latvia- Served as the Company Liaison Officer to Leoni Company (eFP BG LVA Italian Contingent) on Exercise WOLVERINE FORGE, WOLVERINE SHIELD/STRIKE, and SPRING STORM responsible for ensuring the clear passage of information between Battlegroup Headquarters and the company- Served as a driver instructor-examiner in a multinational environment responsible for instructing and qualifying key headquarter staff officers on both the LUVW G-Wagon and ATV platforms which set the conditions for their successful employment on key field training exercises hosted by the Battlegroup, NATO, and the Estonian Defence Forces.       Employed to provide command and control over the armoured fighting vehicle and its crew during the conduct of tactical manoeuvring, engagement of enemy targets, and gathering of battlefield intelligence in offensive, defensive, and stability operations as a part of a four vehicle Light Armoured Troop in both training and operational environments.Primary and secondary duties include:- The training and mentoring of armoured soldiers - Training of new soldiers enlisted into the Canadian Armed Forces, - Providing assistance and mentorship to the Troop Leader in managing the administration and daily operations of the Light Armoured Troop comprised of 16 personnel and four armoured vehicles- Participating in the planning process of squadron level training for a training audience comprised of 80-120 soldiers.Current rank in position: SergeantPrevious rank held in position: Master Corporal (August 2019 - May 2021) Show less Deployed to Vanderhoof, British Columbia on Operation LENTUS 23-08 the Canadian Armed Forces response to the wildfires in the region from 2-10 September, 2023. While deployed, I served as the patrol commander for the Domestic Response Squadron's reconnaissance patrol capabilities. Duties of the position included:- The planning and execution of fire guard reconnaissance employing Polaris Ranger UTVs and geo-tracking devices at extinguished wildfire sites in order to provide BC Wildfire Services the intelligence required to conduct remediation efforts-The planning and execution of emergency resupply convoys with the military police in order to supply soldiers in remote firefighting sites through complex terrain and active wildfires en-route- Conducted battle tracking and map updates for the Domestic Response Squadron headquarters Show less
