  A laboratory and research-based project at the Thermodynamic Research Unit laboratory at UKZN. Experimental data measurement of thermo-physical properties (density, viscosity, sound velocity and refractive index) of amine mixtures at varying temperatures and compositions to determine information on intermolecular interactions, thermodynamic and transport properties of amines. This study was conducted to ultimately determine the potential capabilities of different amine mixtures for selective carbon dioxide absorption and thus, for carbon capture technologies. Show less -Design, modelling and simulation of an adibatic fixed bed reactor for the catalytic water gas shift reaction-This project aimed to develop a process simulation of a rigorous design of an adiabatic fixed bed reactor.-An one-dimensional mathematical model was developed to simulate the performance of the catalytic fixed bed reactor for the water gas shift reaction over a Fe2O3/Cr2O3 catalyst at atmospheric pressure.-The model was integrated numerically using a fourthorder Runge-Kutta method incorporated into a process simulator, namely MATLAB. Led and implemented twoimprovement projects during this rotation Rotation 2: Bottling and Blending department - exposure into the FMCG industry, requirements for successful production runs and the distillation &filtration process that vodka undergoes. Furthermore, this rotation involved identifying ways to improve production efficiencies, engaging with major stakeholders and implementing a project to reduce the glass loss of Smirnoff 1818 on the line.Rotation 3: Quality department - duties performed for various roles such as a Quality Controller, Quality Systems Coordinator, Quality Assurance Technicianand Raw Materials Quality Controller. Implemented a PPMD gold standards project to help identify and eliminate product defects, to improve qualityefficiency, increase productivity and achieve KPIs.Rotation 4: Warehouse department - insight into inbound and outbound logistic processes, such as inventory management, stock take procedure and primary & secondary distribution. Implemented a warehouse optimisation project to minimize logistic costs, improve performance in handling raw material stocks and contribute towards sustainability initiatives.Rotation 5: Engineering department - placed in the role of Utilities Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, HSE Engineer and CAPEX project engineer. Ensured thatthe plant optimised their water usage. Use of SAP to coordinate & schedule maintenance activities.
