Accepted bubble assignment to lead Root cause analysis (RCA) team to resolve two critical technical issues with Hydril blow out preventer (BOP) for Transocean. I was selected to lead this business critical assignment because of my experience with real time operating systems, controls software, and mechanical sealing. Led a cross functional team comprised of senior engineers from 3 different GE businesses to solve these issues. Technology Integration Leader for Wood Group Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) acquisition, now called GE Artificial Lift (AL). Responsible for implementation of GE processes and NPI design rigor for 109 engineers in Oklahoma City, OK and Comodoro, Argentina. This role finished one year after the acquisition in May 2011. At the end of the integration period, the AL engineering team was full integrated into GE Drilling & Surface. Technology Leader for GE O&G Downhole Technology based in Sugar Land, TX. Leading 108 engineers in Hampshire, UK; Aberdeen, UK; Calgary AB; Twinsburg, OH; and Sugar Land, TX. Responsible for Safety, Quality, Innovation, Timeliness, and Cost of O&G wireline and drilling downhole products. Oversaw a product development (NPI) & sustaining budget of $17M per annum. Technology Leader (2+ year expatriate assignment) for GE O&G Downhole Technology (formerly GE Oilfield Technology) based in Hampshire, UK. (Same role as above.) Engineering Manager (expatriate assignment) for GE Xin Hua based in Shanghai, China leading a team of GE engineers to perform material cost out on legacy OC products. Introduced GE’s New Product Introduction process into China engineering team. Led the team through the redesign of a Bently Nevada vibration monitoring communication product.

Assumed leadership of HDS in Jan 2019 and (re)directed team of 45 global employees and 200+ contractors with >$20mm budget to deliver key digital technologies for HAL: RTS, Edge, Data Lake, Petrotech ML/AI. In parallel, established 24x7 technical support organizations using best-cost-country engineers to augment global Halliburton operations.Key accomplishments…Developed and launched real-time-as-a-service (RTS) data transmission system for all HAL business units. RTS streams drilling data from 200+ rigs to HAL customers in Norway and Middle East via public and private Azure cloud respectively. Meets stringent high-bandwidth and QA/QC requirements of Norway (WITSML/ETP) customers. RTS cloud saves nearly $1mm per year in OPEX versus legacy on-premise PC system.Deployed over 40 units of advanced edge/IIOT system to HAL well construction operations: enabled creation of 5 remote operation center (ROCs) and reduction of HAL employees at rigsite. HDS edge units leverage Kubernetes and open-source IIOT to do data acquisition, translation, and transmission, and run ML/AI models at rigsite. Edge platform & RTS are backbone of HAL digital transformation, enabling retirement of 25+ year old HAL system. Show less
