  The Life Insurance Association was founded in Ireland in 1978. It is a training and educational organisation whose primary aim is to raise the competency and standing of life assurance professionals in Ireland. Its main achievement was the introduction of a industry wide qualification to advise on life assurance sales. QFA stands for Qualified Financial Advisor and consists of 6 exams spread across 4 years. I was the chairman for the Cork area in 2006

  I was the Chairman of the Southern Region in 2006. This involved organising regular educational meetings for the 400 strong members in the Cork and Mallow area. The educational meetings were based on empowering advisors to give better financial advice.

  I organised the events and the speakers at our monthly meetings. The range of speakers were from business, property investors and share investments. It was an "open forum" type meeting. The success of the meetings was the willingness of people to share their own ideas and experiences.

  BNI is the Business Network International . It is comprised of chapters who meet once a week ,normally at 7am . They allow only one person per category in each chapter. The concept is that the group works together to get referrals for each other .Their motto is GIVERS GAIN. I was the mentor to 3 active groups. I would visit these groups on a monthly basis and troubleshoot any problems they would have.
