Throughout my 10 years of secondary education experience, I fostered student learning across the areas of AP Literature & Composition, social studies, and public speaking. Responsible for learning objectives for 120+ students per semester, I designed, planned, and implemented impact-driven curriculum using innovative technologies to maximize student learning. Selected to revitalize and direct the NHS student group at East Kentwood High School, I mentored student leaders on program planning to promote academic achievement, community involvement, and school leadership. I supported the organization of various NHS events, fundraisers, and weekly meetings, successfully deepening community relations and increasing student engagement. As a Teacher Trainer, I created and presented professional development sessions to 50+ colleagues on best practices in the classroom spanning various topics, including implementation of ELA common core standards, website development, and educational technology trends. I also partnered with other high-capacity colleagues to develop engaging short and long-term strategic plans. Serving as the Director of Theatrical Productions for East Kentwood High School and Pinewood Middle School, I successfully produced and directed 10 large-scale student theater productions with up to 2K attendees for each show. I spearheaded volunteer management, logistics, scheduling, administration, and publicity. As a Committee Member for the Teen Institute Event, I led 200 student orientation leaders for the freshman program with 800+ participants. I managed all logistics, scheduling, and advertising and promotion, overhauling the program to improve student readiness for high school.
