Linda was a key figure in helping to advance athletic training education. She is remembered by her profession as a person who was always ready and willing to listen. To many, she was a counselor and advisor who helped heal the broken hearts and confused souls of countless student athletes and athletic training students. Many former athletes and current certified athletic trainers can directly attribute their success to the solid foundation provided by Linda. In 1998, Linda was inducted into the Ohio Athletic Training Hall of Fame. The OATA Linda Weber Daniel Award begins with an anonymous nomination followed by a thorough nomination process that involves a statement from the nominee as well as letters of recommendation from colleagues and current/former students.
