  As a member of the Stormwater Group within the GIS department, completed Stormwater Utilities projects including: the City of Nashville, Tennessee, the counties of Adams, Douglas, and Arapahoe in Colorado, and the Southeast Metro Area of Denver, Colorado. Tasks included project planning, layer creation and analysis, spatial analysis, mapping, geodatabase management and analysis, macro construction, data cleanup and finalization, and quality control. Performed database queries in MS Access using SQL and built-in functions. Worked within and maintained a SDE, creating and editing features as well as archiving. Worked alongside the Hazard Mitigation Group to complete Flood Hazard Mitigation Plans for several counties throughout SE Kansas. Tasks included creating flood models using HAZUS-MH MR3, analyzing and mapping models in relation to critical facilities, and writing reports based on the analyses. Performed MS Access queries to sort and analyze critical facilities and flood data. Involved in several DFIRM projects which included DFIRM Panel Creation, batch panel exporting using a macro built from a VB script as well as a DFIRM Panel Generator macro, a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR), geocoding using x-y coordinates and address data, and editing multiple floodplain layers for all of Mojave County, Arizona. Responsible for recruiting, hiring and training employees, choosing projects, ordering supplies, planning group events, and overseeing the completion and quality of projects.Provide GIS assistance to upper management at the Forest Preserve District, including mapping the frequency and relationship of gypsy moths to different tree species throughout the county, using GPS data gathered by the Natural Resources Crew. Help the Forest Preserve District save money and manpower using GIS applications. Map project locations and areas of interest to assist crews.Responsible for creating and maintaining employee and project databases using MS Access and Excel. The project analyzed potential impacts to wetlands, as well as threatened/endangered species and their habitats.
