      • Aided in the planning of research projects for the social dimensions lab.• Monitored a variety of access traps (ditches, berms, gates, etc...) in Northern Ontario to assess their effectiveness in deterring area use.• Used Arc GIS to investigate various lake information by Forest Management Unit.• Co-authored the paper “The effectiveness of signs at restricting vehicle traffic: a case of seasonal closures on forest access roads” which was published in the Canadian Journal of Forest Research.• Found appropriate sites using ArcMap GIS for the previously mentioned paper, investigated them in the field and monitored the site using TRAFx devices.       Established and maintained a wood supply for newly constructed pellet mill in Atikokan, Ontario . Developed, implemented and manage d a fibre supply with a budget of $8-10 million per year to determine future monthly expenditures based on forecasted delivery volumes by contractor. Responsible for supplying year to date budget vs actual amounts of fibre on a monthly and annual basis as well as forecasting a 3 -5-year outlook. Developed, implemented and managed quality assessment and quality control (QA/QC) program for the Canadian pellet mills to ensure all fibre and products met customer specifications. Achieved and maintained FSC chain of custody certification for all Rentech's pellet mills to ensure responsible sourcing of wood fibre. Negotiated multiyear 100,000 tonne ($8 million) sawdust contract with large publicly traded company. Established and maintained relationships with the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ontario Forest Industry, Forest Management companies, local citizens and government. Show less

      Area superintendent responsible for all wood harvesting, logistics and construction operations on the Crossroute and Sapawe Forests . Responsible for the harvest and delivery of over 500,000 m3 of wood chips logs and residuals, as well as the construction of nearly 600 miles of forest access roads. Mr. Hosegood had overall budgetary responsibility of approximately $38M/year. Additional responsibilities included the safety, environmental compliance and material quality of all products. Responsible for the development of strategic logging plans to ensure even fiber flows to company facilities throughout the operating year. Managed and implemented the Crossroute Road construction program to ensure the delivery of fibre to all receiving mills at the approved budget (approximately $6,000,000/year). Negotiated road construction and maintenance rates and issued work orders . Processed all invoices to ensure payment to contractors and reconciled all work orders monthly and managed any variance to the budget. Show less
