    • Fishers cleaning services

      Apr 2006 - Apr 2007
      Team manger

Fishers Cleaning Services are a contract cleaning business, they offer both Domestic and Industrial cleaning and maintenance, and specialise within Public Sector. My role was to manage a team of up to seven cleaners on a daily basis to undertake cleaning contracts for Manchester City Council. As Team Manager I was responsible for organising staff and supervising their work to ensure it met both the cosmetic and hygiene standards demanded by the Council. My duties includes pick up of staff from their homes and arrival on site, inspection of work done and prioritisation of work through the day. I would plan each day in advance including allocation of staff, schedules and all logistics. I had to encourage the cleaners to maintain the required standards and I negotiated suitable incentives with the management for specific achievements. I was responsible for all equipment and its use including the company vehicles. Whilst mainly focused on my team I was also required to liaise with members of Manchester city council regarding forthcoming work, daily reviews and dealing with any issues. Show less

    • Sellers engineering

      Apr 2007 - Aug 2009
      Feild sales executive

Sellers Engineering Ltd fabricates containers for the Waste and Recycling Industry. As Area Sales Representative I was responsible for maintaining and expanding our customer base in the North (Birmingham to the Scottish Boarders). With few office staff I was totally responsible for all my clients needs and I was encouraged to approach my Sales roles as if I were running my own business. I split my time between the office; covering general Account Management and telesales, and the field; visiting customers and building relationships. My customers ranged from Local Authorities, large Blue Chip companies through to small independent and family run businesses. As a result I learnt to tailor my sales approach accordingly whilst always remaining professional. I won significant business for the company and helped maintain Sellers En established reputation as the quality manufacturer of Waste containers. I decided to move on due to the limited scope of the company; a finite production capacity effectively meant a cap on any commission. This along with a reluctance to move into new sectors or to expand the product range meant that I could not see my career progressing further if I had stayed. I left the company on good terms. • Packcare

      Aug 2009 - Feb 2015
      Business development executive

Packcare is part of the Wastecare group of companies and specialises in the re-conditioning and recycling of Industrial packaging. Packcare Collect and Supply IBC’s, Steel Drums, Plastic Drums, Fibre Kegs as well as the smaller packaging. As a Sales Executive for a Packcare my role is split between sourcing new packaging as feedstock for our process and also in the sale of the reconditioned items to our customers. In order to be effective in both positions I have had to gain a high level of understanding of Industrial Packaging types as well as the legal requirements for the supply of suitable containers including UN number recognition. By utilising our groups transport infrastructure including 12 national service centres we are able to service the whole of the UK efficiently, this makes us unique within the Reconditioning industry as most other companies are restricted to servicing a single region or Industry.
