  At Upper St. Clair, I was involved in policy research and analysis for a township level municipal government office. During the time I was working in the township, the major ongoing project was a collective bargaining negotiation. I was responsible for collecting and compiling data on local and national data to aid the township in preparing its proposal.

  In my role as Associate Director I am responsible for supervision over the grants management operations of my department, working in conjunction with my Director and other team managers, with supervisory responsibilities for our Pre-Award, Post-Award, and Personnel/Purchasing teams. As the manager of the Pre-Award team I was responsible for coordinating workload for the WPIC Office of Grants and Contracts Pre-Award team, which oversees all grant submissions for the University of Pittsburgh Department of Psychiatry. In this role, I represented the Pre-Award team on the WPIC Office of Grants and Contracts leadership committee. Upon successful completion of the Certified Research Administrator exam, I was promoted to Grants Specialist III. In this role I had the added responsibility of managing the Post-Award team in the absence of the team manager as well as added emphasis on process improvement and training at the office and departmental levels. As a Grants Specialist II, my responsibilities continued to include administration of research grants for the University of Pittsburgh Department of Psychiatry with added emphasis on departmental process improvement and training of individuals in the Grants Specialist I role. I started at the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic Office of Grants and Contracts as a Grants Specialist I in February 2011. We are the research administration office for The University of Pittsburgh Department of Psychiatry. We handle grant administration from submission to close-out.
