Activities and Societies: Cornell Cycling Club, While at Cornell I was heavily involved in the Cornell Cycling Club. I spent three semesters as the treasurer for the club. In my last semester in the club I was elected the Vice President. I was involved in brings three new sponsors to the team. I also stepped up recruitment efforts and helped the team grow by 30%. I also worked with a sponsor to set up a long term arrangement for alumni jersey sales to help financially support the club. I have designed and fabricated a stationary bicycle in the Cornell Human Power and Locomotion Laboratory under the guidance of Professor Andy Ruina. The design optimizes the power of a human over a short time interval. The stationary bicycle is also adjustable so that riders from 5'6" to 6'6" can use the mechanism.I was a member of the 2008 National Champion AIChE Chem-E-Car Team. I developed and implemented a new chassis, and power train.I have focused my upper level course work on courses that I feel will be valuable for mechanical design. I took an introductory course to composite materials. i also took a course on light weight frame design. In this course I used dynamic response code, as well as plastic collapse code to design, build, test, and rebuild a crash cage. Show less
