As a Level III Examiner and Certified Level III inspector per the requirements of ANSI N45.2.6, developed, maintained and evaluated the Nuclear Quality Control Inspector qualification and certification program. Verified site-specific instructions for adequacy and compliance with program procedures, codes and standards. Performed periodic inspector and programmatic observations at each of the four sites to ensure effectiveness and adequacy of the program. Reviewed each candidate's education, experience and training to ensure they posed the required skills and knowledge necessary for certification. In addition, developed and administered proficiency demonstration exams as required. Certified candidates as Level I, Level II or Technical Level III. Determined if contract inspector supplier's written practice satisfies the minimum requirement of ANSI N45.2.6, 1978. Also performed a documented technical review of each contract inspector supplier’s certifications program to ensure compliance with TVA's commitments.Maintained open communication with site QC supervisors in providing aid for the overall implementation of the NQCI program. Conducted programmatic and technical reviews of site practices and procedural commitments. Possessed Nuclear Quality Control Inspector Certifications within the Electrical, Mechanical and Instrumentation disciplines.Developed and administered the Instrumentation and Control, "Calibration and Maintenance Training Program" for Nuclear Quality Control Inspector (NQCI) certification training. As the only certified Instrumentation and Control Level III within this area of certification, responsibilities included the development of course objectives, lesson plans and on-the-job (OJT) training. Conducted all OJT and formal classroom training for each of TVA's nuclear sites. Show less - Perform management activities and assist the personnel of the electrical, instrumentation and mechanical units with the implementation of a quality control inspection program that ensures the conformance of construction, maintenance and modifications activities to quality assurance requirements. Reviewed inspection results to recognize significant conditions, trends and changes in the effectiveness of the site quality program and for initiating appropriate corrective action.Responsibilities also include the performance of planning and scheduling functions which required daily interfacing with site organizations to determine upcoming work activities in order to provide quality control support. Perform training evaluations to ensure electrical and instrumentation personnel have attained satisfactory knowledge and skills necessary to complete certification requirements. Show less As a member of a task group, responsibilities included revising, upgrading, developing and implementing the Nuclear Quality Control Inspector (NQCI) Training Program. The scope was directed toward TVA's commitments to the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) guidelines for power plant training accreditation.Devised and coordinated the development of learning objectives for each of the Electrical, Mechanical and I&C tasks selected for this evaluation. Developed an instructional program reflecting these approved objectives and a series of examinations in which performance could be evaluated and certification be granted. As a Certified Instructor, performed formal classroom presentations within all disciplines of certification under the requirements Show less
