  I was a tutor for Yayasan Mendaki. I have experience in tutoring a wide range of students from Primary 1 to even Secondary 5. Some of the subjects that I am able to tutor are English, Maths, Science and even Geography. While tutoring requires me to assist and nurture our younger generation to be successful individuals, Mendaki Tuition Scheme has actually taught me patience in teaching, experiential learning teaching students from different and diverse walks of life and also to be sympathetic towards the struggles of others.   After enlistment for National Service in May 2012, I was posted to 2ND SCDF Division as a clerk under the Personnel Branch and was also a personal assistant for the commander. During my time there, I have learnt a lot of life skills and also how to handle proper administration matters. Many people think being a clerk is a very simple yet insignificant job, but it is definitely a flawed stereotype. Working with individuals who are much older and superior in ranking, regular officers per se, is not an easy task. Communication is undoubtedly the key to a good teamwork. Understanding and integrity are another strong aspects in working with people. My job scope was more than just typing testimonials or completing appraisals for firefighters. In committing to this job, I learnt to stand strong facing criticisms, persevere in doing what people feel are menial tasks and also be confident in presenting yourself as a representative of SCDF. I was also one of the resident emcees/host for ceremonial events in our division. SCDF has definitely been a beneficial journey in teaching me how to be resilient. Show less

  I was also a tutor at Kumon Education Centre for a short period of time. During my time at Kumon, I assisted our young individuals in Mathematics and the English Language. Kumon has a very unique methodology in its teaching and also its diverse pedagogies creates every session an interesting one so vibrant and fresh for the student to learn. I learnt a lot as a tutor at Kumon as it taught me that teaching does not always have to be one way but creativity is a must!
