  Network Operations & Control Center (NOC): TIER I support for Central Office field technicians in Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania. Responsible for analyzing and isolating troubles in 5ESS, switching equipment, including customer reported troubles, by viewing output message logs of switching equipment and interpret what the output data was indicating. Performed the same duties for EWSD, DMS, and 1AESS switches during out of hours shifts.Troubleshot switching equipment remotely and issued trouble tickets to the local central office indicating what repairs needed to be performed. This required coordination and follow-up on the repair tickets issued, until their completion. If the trouble indicated a programming or software issue, I would make the repair remotely or coordinate with the departments to have them correct data within their area of expertise. Worked with multiple law enforcement agencies to conduct traps and traces. Wrote technical job aids to assist other technicians in performing traps and traces as well verifying the identity of the person at the requesting agencies.Performed supervisory duties when the supervisor was out of the office. This involved fielding calls and emails and issuing routine requests or urgent/emergency escalations to aid in resolving network problems. This required managerial skills and team effort with associates, supervisors, managers, and directors, as well as other departments. I had to manage personnel and assign tasks within the workgroup.   Responsible for multiple Central Offices, in multiple counties, in the state of New Jersey. Maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrade and turnup of PSTN switching (Nortel DMS 100 & 200, Lucent 5ESS, & EWSD), transport, and Fios data/video equipment.Installed and troubleshot all customer circuits from DS0 to OC192, to Gigabit Ethernet & Fios, per engineering circuit orders. Tested, turned up, and maintained new equipment, including switches, multiplexers, routers, etc. Perform fiber characterization testing. Worked closely with engineering to resolve conflicts on Circuit Provisioning orders. Also, helped with redesigns to find emergency “work arounds” during equipment failures.Maintained, troubleshot, and installed new circuits in 911 network equipment, switches, and routers. Provided rapid troubleshooting and repair of the 911 network and customer circuits. Coordinated with multiple departments and end users\vendors to complete installations and repairs in a timely manner. In short, my responsibility was to keep the 911 network in a high state of readiness.Monitored Central Offices facilities: Conduct workplace safety inspections, identify property and structure related issues for buildings, as well as parking areas and surrounding landscape. To accomplish this I regularly conducted safety, electrical, plumbing, and structural inspections. Having come up with a resolution I coordinated both interdepartmentally and with vendors to implement the necessary repairs and maintenance.Supply\Logistics: For an 8-year span, in addition to my normal duties, I was responsible for the ordering, stocking, and distribution of all supplies necessary to keep 21 Central Offices running, while staying within the budget guidelines provided.
