I was responsible for:- Defining and driving the operational vision, strategy, and execution of home Ryder Cup matches.- Leading budget development and financial oversight of substantial multi million pound expenditure budgets.- Directing the design and implementation of venue layouts to optimise spectator experience and event flow.- Leading transportation planning to accommodate over 270,000 attendees.- Acting as the primary liaison for TV, broadcast, and production teams.- Establishing and enforcing robust health, safety, security, and contingency protocols.- Recruiting and leading a high-performing, international operations team.- Overseeing procurement strategies and contract negotiations of complex multi-million pound tenders.- Ensured collaboration across internal departments.- Providing oversight of all on-site operations, introducing technological systems and products to ensure the project was delivered on time.- Leading stakeholder engagement, including emergency services, local authorities, host nation representatives, and venue partners.The 2018 and 2023 Ryder Cups were recognised across the industry as 'best in class', delivered record revenue for the business and won multiple awards for event delivery.
