  • Do mechanical designs using pro/e and Creo 2.• Execute design plan as set out by the Senior Designer• Conduct mechanical design by establishing size, volume electrical clearance and physical appearance of transformers from customer specification and electrical design criteria.• Performs pre-ordering of long lead-time and other components required by design• Prepare layouts on instruction from Senior Designer• Assist with control and checking of all drawing functions within design team• Participate in internal and external design reviews.• Assist with documentation of design philosophies• Liaise with customer regarding final site and installation dimensions, layout and requirements• Liaise with Technology Department on special and customised designs where current MDS system does not cover the design• Provide necessary inputs for tender designs done by Mechanical Tender Designer.• Advise Mechanical Tender Designer on design aspects during the preparation of tender designs.• Assist Production departments resolve specific design related issues.• Respond to queries from Production, Quality and Commercial departments.• Provide input/advice to Mechanical Design Standards Custodian on items to be incorporated as part of the mechanical standards.
