  • Experience

    • GT Bicycles, Inc.

      Jan 1998 - Jul 1998
      Mechanical Engineer

Created composite frame geometry that exceeded design requirements, optimized using FEA design analysis in Pro/Mechanica software. Thermoplastic and carbon fiber frame was combined with aluminum sub-components to achieve required levels of strength and flexure while achieving necessary production requirements. Project was completed and released approximately 3 months ahead of published schedule.

    • Bose Corporation

      Apr 1998 - Jul 1999
      Mechanical Engineer (consultant)

Designed and developed proprietary noise cancellation electronics into military headphones released for use on Apache helicopters. Adhered to strict ECN and product standards, meeting requirements to develop communication system per required protocols. Released approved documentation 4 months ahead of published schedule while developing lightweight assembly that exceeded required levels of performance.

    • BAXTER HEALTHCARE PTY LTD

      Apr 1998 - Jul 2000
      Mechanical Engineer (consultant)

Invented and developed robotic inspection device providing 100% part verification on production line. Created sealed acoustic chamber and air driven mechanism to provide non-contact inspection method free of background noise and environmental variables. Resolved 15 year old manufacturing problem that provided approximately $150k in scrap avoidance and increased customer satisfaction.

    • Oreck Vacuum USA

      Apr 1998 - Jul 1999
      Mechanical Engineer (consultant)

Designed and developed innovative multi-pole DC motor within engineering team composed of mechanical, electrical and magnetic specialists. Prototype produced exceeded published requirements while achieving ambient noise levels below required protocol. Released design was published per company standards while meeting or exceeding all product specifications.

    • PerkinElmer Optoelectronics

      Apr 1999 - Jul 2000
      CAD Engineer

Designed and developed mechanical sub-systems for next generation photolithography production machinery. Assisted engineering team in creation and documentation of mechanized systems, prototypes and air handling assemblies. Work included PCB handling mechanisms, motorized component drive systems and integration of commercial parts to achieve product specification.

    • Alcon Surgical

      Jul 2000 - Dec 2006
      Sr Engineer I, Mechanical/Manufacturing

Created, tested and released equipment sub-assembly that reduced per unit cost from $2300 to $650 resulting in more than three million dollars in savings while meeting product specifications and regulator requirements. Supported and developed manufacturing equipment for multiple production lines and created released fixtures that increased production capacity while providing workplace safety. Invented process tooling to standardize worker output, decrease scrap and improve ergonomic compliance.

    • Hoosier Inc.

      Dec 2006 - Jun 2010
      Director of Engineering

Implemented and optimized work flow and new product methods including engineering tasks in support of product manufacturing. Created poke-yoke inspection for machine side pass/fail testing and led effort to reduce scrap and rejections by more than 60k per month. Led effort to increase capacity in CAD based product and inspection standards using customer database to drive part acceptance.

    • Alcon Surgical

      Aug 2010 - Jun 2014
      Sr Engineer II, Mechanical/Manufacturing
