    • Nanyang Technological University Singapore

      Jun 2012 - Jun 2012
4th GlobalTech Workshop & Summer Camp on Sustainable Water Management in Urban Centres

The GlobalTech Workshop is an annual event organized by 'The Global Alliance of Technological Universities' which is a network of the world’s top technological universities. I feel very fortunate to have got the opportunity to attend this workshop as the participation was limited to 25 students from around the world. As a part of this summer camp, I attended a series of seminar-style interactive lectures by local and international experts on sustainable water management and also visited various water treatment facilities including NeWater Treatment facility (for reclamation of used water) and the Hyflux Desalination plant.I greatly benefited from a unique multi-cultural interaction experience thanks to the diverse group of highly motivated students selected from all over the world (10 nationalities) Show less

    • University of Twente

      Sept 2013 - Feb 2018
      Graduate Researcher

My research experience at the University of Twente comprised of theoretical work as well as flow simulator development for studying flow of non-Newtonian fluids such as polymer solutions using coarse-grain Molecular Dynamics simulations. The main output of the Ph.D. thesis (linked herewith) is the development of a novel computational technique called Hydrodynamically Coupled Brownian Dynamics (HCBD) which is documented in the paper: Ahuja, V. R., Van Der Gucht, J., & Briels, W. J. (2018). Hydrodynamically Coupled Brownian Dynamics: A coarse-grain particle-based Brownian dynamics technique with hydrodynamic interactions for modeling self-developing flow of polymer solutions.
