He also managed research in the areas of advanced power system development and evaluation, and catalyst development and testing. Dr. Gale was heavily involved in the technical aspects of the research he managed as well as in the hiring and training of mechanical and chemical engineers, technicians, chemists and other technical personnel needed to accomplish the team mission. Dr. Gale obtained funding for, managed, and directed all aspects of an oxy-fired carbon-dioxide mitigation demonstration project on a 1.1 MW thermal coal-fired pilot facility, yielding a facility that was subsequently used to test carbon-sequestration technologies applicable to oxy-fired systems, which will operate with concentrated (i.e., >90%) carbon-dioxide stack gas, ready for long-term storage.In addition, Dr. Gale managed and directed the development of new and unique technologies for which patents were obtained or are pending. An example is the development of a bromine injection technology that takes benign calcium bromide and converts it into diatomic bromine gas as it is injected into the duct at a power plant to aid in the mitigation of mercury emissions. Another example is the development of a compact syngas cleanup system suitable for use in connecting small distributed biomass gasifiers to high-end use devices, such as gas turbines, fuel cells, and Fischer-Tropsch conversion units.   I developed the Air Pollution Control Solutions LinkedIn Company page directly after Novinda shut down, in April, 2018. Through advertising my consulting services, I have been successful at attracting work and consulting for a number of different companies, including:DTE Energy - For several weeks, I conducted Due Diligence with regard to the potential purchase of the Novinda Assets.Atlas Carbon - I initially offered my technical consulting services, but I was ultimately hired as the Company President for a short duration, where I directed and facilitated the creation and implementation of process controls, protocols, and procedures for Safety, Operations, Purchasing, R&D, Marketing, Construction, Maintenance, IP, and Documents Storage.Environmental Energy Services - I began consulting for EES in June 2019, and succeeded in convincing them to purchase the Novinda Assets by August 2019, becoming a full-time employee and the Director of Research & Development in January 2020. As Director of R&D for EES, I designed and built small manufacturing facilities, laboratory equipment, wrote proposals, conducted research in the lab, in pilot-scale facilities, and in full-scale facilities, wrote reports, and greatly expanded the EES R&D equipment and instrument capabilities.   In my role as Director of Research & Development at Carbon America, I had many responsibilities, including developing the analytical chemistry capabilities for the company (including acquiring the required analytical instrumentation as well as personnel) managing groups of Engineers designing process models and managing groups of Engineers and Technicians, designing, building, and performing experiments relative to carbon capture technologies, direct hands-on project efforts (an example is a process model I developed to evaluate the potential of a new multi-functional process concept to eliminate all pollutants, even from coal-fired power plants, as well as other industrial facilities, such as cement plants), leading DOE FOA Solicitation submissions, recruiting and hiring, helping Carbon America develop R&D Processes and Protocols for this rapidly expanding and changing company, and participating in the genesis of new project concepts and pushing these concepts rapidly into the commercial project execution phase. An example is using FrostCC (our CC technology) to scrub SO2 and manufacture sulfuric acid. In addition, I worked with patent attorneys to manage the Carbon America patent portfolio and have recently constructed and submitted a new patent application for a new carbon capture and energy storage technology.
