As an Tendering Engineer, I support the sale of ABB drives products and system drives by: - Formulates competitive quotations, taking into account best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each individual situation. Regularly reports the status of the quotations using defined tools and collects and analyses the reasons for tenders being lost and won.- Identifies potential risks in the quotations, and in any related contract agreements with customers. Show less Since joining ABB LTD in the spring of 2022, I successfully developed from being a multiskilled mechanical/electrical engineer working at sea and offshore to being a specialist in LV/MV/DC electrical equipment and their associated instrumentation and control systems. A considerable body of my work at ABB was as a Variable Speed Drive service engineer throughout the UK and occasionally overseas. Exploiting ABB’s extensive and rigorous training pipeline, I became accredited with expert status on a majority of ABB Drives equipment. I was involved in a number of installation, commissioning, service and defect rectification projects. My responsibilities were as follows: - Represent ABB as site engineer or site responsible engineer as requested. - Provide Hardware and Firmware support on site for QCS and DCS equipment. - Deliver world class preventive and corrective maintenance including spares management using bespoke ABB tools. - Provide application support to customers, on site and by remote link. - Devise, prepare and present operational reports for internal and external use. - Provide high level field and in house technical support. - Advise/Assist ABB Sales and account managers with quotations and promoting ABB products and services. -Advise clients as to maintenance procedures, evolution, and site planning. - Promote sales of maintenance services and equipment, including spare parts. My most notable example of work during my time as an FSE was the yearlong upgrade project for Scottish Power Renewables, whereby over 100 in nacelle turbine converters were reinstalled and recommissioned. This 5+MUSD CAPEX project resulted in over 100,000 homes in Eastern Scotland being powered by 200 MW of clean energy. I personally acted as the person in charge of work for 22 of these turbine upgrades, and this is my proudest career achievement to date. Show less
