    • Spokane Industries

      Dec 2006 - May 2012
      Senior Industrial Engineer

As an employee with Spokane Industries I was designated as the Senior Industrial Engineer for the steel foundry division of the corporation. The basis of my job was to make each phase of the casting process as smooth, fast, and cost effective as possible. Understanding and interpreting commercial design schematics, working with unionized labor, tasking field workers, coordinating schedules, cost estimating, international travel, and promoting general safety are a few of the many tasks performed. I spent two years as the supervisor of the molding department where I continued to improve the molding process as well as lead 22 employees into a more productive and efficient future. Show less

    • PowerHandling, Inc.

      May 2012 - Feb 2015
      Mechanical Engineer

The part I enjoy most about my position at PowerHandling is that I am tasked with the designing of new equipment from a concept through the prototype process and into production. This includes the researching and specifying of features and components, generating timelines and scheduling estimates, and collaborating with other members of the engineering team during the design process. Maintaining engineering documentation control, establishing procedural protocols, implementing lean practices into production and is also a large part of my job. Show less

    • K&N Electric Motors

      Mar 2015 - Apr 2016
      Mechanical Engineer

K&N Electric Motors works with the Army Corps of Engineers and other branches of the government (like Bureau of Reclamation or various Irrigation Districts) to design, build and rehabilitate Bridge Cranes, Gantry Cranes, and along with various projects like gate hoists, screen cleaners, Wicket gates, and so on. I was brought on as a Mechanical Engineer but quickly transferred into a Project Manager role for various projects. As an Engineer/Manager I set an example of upholding high productivity standards and maintaining a strong work ethic. My responsibilities ranged from deciphering the Contract into manageable portions from design work, procuring manufactured components, to designing new equipment (taking on the responsibility myself if needed), managing several sub-contractors, and working with the customer. In addition to managing each phase of the building process, I kept accurate records and documentation including assembling the required drawings and calculations along with product data and certifications for submittals. The fast paced environment put me on a steep learning curve with time management as well as personnel management, which continues to help prepare me as an growing Engineer. Due to cutbacks within the company, the entire Engineering staff was let go as K&N no longer provides Engineering services. Show less
