  Project and Change Management

  As part of my undergraduate I completed a six-month work placement with the Project and Change Management team in AIB Bankcentre. The department monitored dozens of projects at a time from the planning phase to project close.My main task was to re-develop the departmental intranet site, this involved pro-actively communicating with numerous of other departments, such as risk, finance and legal, to produce a site that would guide the user through each stage of a project. During this period I also gained experience in Business Process Improvement, working with a loans department on a project aiming to reduce the average handling time of a loan application. This data was used to reduce the average handling time on motor loans applications. I was awarded a Distinction as a result of my work. Show less

  During the final months of my postgraduate I completed a second work placement, this time with EY where I worked in the IT Risk and Assurance department. My tasks varied on a daily basis and I would regularly need to multi task numerous clients and accounts at the same time.Through working with government bodies to global co-operations I gained invaluable experience that has provided me with a wide understanding of the business world. Tasks included preparing monthly figures for the Irish Petroleum Industry Association, Journal Entry Balancing and compiling feedback for the Annual EY Global Information Security Survey. For a five month period, I was also assigned to the debt recovery group of a leading Irish retail bank, my position with this client involved Assurance and Regulatory testing where I had to ensure the correct procedures were followed by managers in charge of the large sums of debt.   Initially my role was to support Apple users across Europe with any contractual issues that may arise in relation to Apple support agreements. I completed this task with a 100% customer satisfaction level. I was then assigned to work on a new project team that validated consumer and enterprise ownership claims. I became heavily involved in the fast paced and ever changing project and soon came on board full time. I grew my expertise in this area and became the main Point of Contact for the role in EMEIA.Analysed vast amount of customer data that enabled management to calculate the number of full time employees required and provided this data to scheduling, who then produced timetables to reflect the incoming workload. As a result of this I was signed Head of Reporting for the team. I trained over 50 advisors on the procedure and created training tools and manuals in order to reduce the coaching period. Show less
