  Invest In Youth kicked off in mid September at San Pedro Elementary in San Rafael, CA. The program currently reaches out to 130, 3rd-5th grade students to teach them how to live healthy lifestyles. Our team is made up of volunteers graciously donating their time and includes Bay Club Marin trainers Brian Edwards, Heather McKenzie and Nancy Morano, as well as one of our very own members Susie Van Buskirk. In addition, we are also excited to have Efren Buzzo, our Bay Club Marin Zumba instructor, available to teach the kids this form of dance style fitness as well. Overall, the kids are identifying fitness goals and making strides in doing so which has been a joy to see. We have also noticed a concern about body image among the 4th/5th grade girls and are developing a new workshop to teach them about positive self-image. We are continuing our fund raising efforts and looking forward to expanding out to other schools adversely affected by budget cuts. Show less
