      Overall responsibility for the publishing programme of the Society for Endocrinology and its subsidiary, BioScientifica, publishing primary research journals, a books programme and a portfolio of additional publications for the SfE and other client societies.• Conceived, proposed and championed idea of a new open access (OA) journal, convincing collaborating organizations to support it. Launched (in June 2012) as Endocrine Connections.• Managed strategic review of SfE’s three self-owned journals, resulting in a planned relaunch to ensure complementary development priorities and improved efficiency in commissioning content. • Engaged with major open access stakeholders on funding for OA publishing. Resulted in active membership of UUK/RIN Working Group. It recommended that funders clarify how they would support the payment of gold OA fees to meet their OA policies, a key result three years before the Finch report. Show less
