  Primitive Cool is a competitive offshore race team based in Australia. At 51 feet long, Primitive Cool was designed by Reichel Pugh to win offshore yacht races. She has won a number of Australian yacht races including the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht RaceI perform two roles during races - helmsman and bowman. - As helmsman my task is to steer the yacht in often testing conditions, at high speeds (60 kph) and at night. Typically this role is shared amoung 3 people to ensure fatigue is managed during multi-day races.- As bowman I am primarily managing the hoisting of sails but my role also includes climbing the mast (while sailing) and preparing the yacht for the next maneuver.
