Head of Year 4 and International Primary Curriculum Coordinator

I started at Garden International School as an EAL teacher for Year 5/6 students. I re-structured the EAL Sheltered Class programme in order to make the curriculum more inclusive and dynamic, asking for and implementing change so that all students, regardless of their stage of language acquisition, could be given student agency and a positive, growth mindset. I was then invited to take the role of International Primary Coordinator to oversee, train and develop the implementation of the IPC across the whole Primary School. After this, I was Head of Year 4, leading a team, developing the curriculum, providing pastoral care to students, PLD to staff, liaising with parents, managing a budget and organising residential trips and large Exit Point showcases. • Dulwich College (Singapore)

      Aug 2016 - Aug 2022

As Head of the House System in the infant school (ages 2-7 years), I instigated and re-developed the House system creating a wider and more inclusive platform of events, student leadership and whole school participation. Each year, in line with the school's theme, I organise whole school events (involving 700+ children and 80+ staff) including vertical collaboration, that are structured so that even the youngest can participate in a meaningful way. Recent projects have included the introduction, implementation and embedding, through inquiry, the ideas of The Good Life Goals and celebrating International Women's Day, Maths Pi Day and Earth Day. I have developed the student leadership of the Y2 House Representatives so that they take an active role in assemblies, house point collection, leading events such as House Dining, quizzes for Book Week and promoting activities such as Rainbow snacks.I have also taught Year 1 and Year 2, been actively involved in the musical life of the school, conducting the DUCKS choir of 80+ children aged 2-7 years, helped with Brownies CCA and coaching Netball.I am currently on a professional journey to develop my understanding and application of the Compassionate Systems techniques from MIT, involved in adapting them for younger children and I am a CIS (Council of International Schools) chairperson for my school's accreditation process.
