      Jul 2023 - Sept 2023
      Medical Officer (Clinical Admin)

      • During my tenure as a Medical Officer at Sterling Cancer Hospital, one of the most prestigious hospital chains of the country, I had the privilege of working closely with Hemato-oncologists , Surgical Oncologists and Uro-surgeons gaining invaluable experience in the field of oncology and Urosugery. • Over the course of 2-3 months, I made significant contributions to patient care and clinical operations, involving active participation in daily rounds with oncology consultants. • I also played a crucial role in managing the preoperative workup for cancer patients scheduled for surgical procedures. One of my significant achievements during this period was managing small complaints and concerns of cancer patients independently. This included addressing common side effects of cancer treatments, providing symptom relief, doing scratch tests for flaps to ensure the viability of tissue and offering emotional support. • I collaborated closely with nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care to cancer patients. • I gained insights into various treatment modalities and protocols, enhancing my understanding of cancer care and saw a plethora of cases involving various cancers of the tongue, gut, pancreas, ovaries, lung, blood, prostate, and breast as well as was actively involved in the supervision of appropriate chemotherapy drug regimen being given. • This entire experience allowed me to observe and assist in the management of complex cancer cases, including diagnosing and treatment planning. I developed effective communication skills to ensure patients felt heard and cared for throughout their journey. Show less
