  The third year of my studies was spent as the Technical Placement student with the design agency PDD Group Ltd. in London and included many varied duties such as computer aided design work, model-making, trend researching and presentation to international clients. The role required me to work on multiple projects with different supervisors simultaneously and as such I was expected to prioritise my own work and work with a high degree of independence. The role involved a large amount of CAD work and I frequently used Solidworks to a professional standard to produce new components with a view for in-house manufacture as well to modify existing components and assemblies.   It’s on the Meter is an epic round-the-world expedition in a 20-year-old classic London Black Cab.The expedition broke the the Guinness World Record for the longest taxi journey in history in August 2011 and has covered four continents, over fifty countries and over 45,000 miles whilst raising £20,000 for the British Red Cross. I was one of the founders of the expedition and one of the principal organisers of the fifteen month journey. My specific areas of expertise include visa and carnet arrangements, route planning and research, accommodation, online activities and design and branding.I am also involved in charity liaison, mechanics, sponsorship, media activities and general tasks.
