      • Trustee & Company Director – Remits: Communication, Volunteer Management, Activities, Events and CampaignsAchievements and responsibilities: • Re-elected into my post and became an ambassador for the University, regularly delivering speeches and presentations to attract new staff and students to Heriot-Watt University. • Lead organiser, planner and supervisor of the HWUnion ‘Freshers Week’ (events programme spanning nine days), which resulted in a growth of 16% within our commercial services and generated over £18,000 for the organisation.• Continued being the project leader for the Volunteer Accreditation Scheme, expanding the system with each semester and presenting volunteer data to the University Court.• Involved in the development of the new Communications Strategy, which enabled us to increase our student election turnout by 8% from the previous year and consequently obtain the highest voter percentage in Scotland.• Held my seats on crucial University Committees such as University Court and Senate, also the Unions trustee board.• Created and personally delivered ‘Body Language’ workshops for students on campus, in line with our ‘Skill Development’ strategy.       To oversee the co-ordination and management of all aspects of the ongoing European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 'Smart City' City Operations Capability project including controlling project activities, planning, organisation and risk control whilst ensuring that the image and policies of the Council are promoted.Managing and implementing business change ensuring that all projects adhere to formal project management methodologies (e.g. Prince II). This includes the full life cycle of the project from scope, business case (including investment appraisal), project planning, project team management, cultural change management, budget monitoring and risk management to implementation and evaluation.Ensuring adherence to the ‘Scotland’s 8th City – the Smart City’ ERDF Strategic Intervention. Show less Community Safety Night TeamLiaise with Police Scotland and handle cases coming through the 101 telephone service during the evening and night time. Use and update the database for dealing with clients who need solutions within the community and solve antisocial behaviour complaints. This includes but is not limited to:- Reassuring members of the public and advising them on their options- Driving out to localities to speak with concerns and mediate anti-social behaviour, by advising them and giving them warnings- Monitor ongoing cases and liaising with day time Community Safety Officers- Ensure the public is aware of the councils service and that it runs into the night- Identify vulnerable members of the public and ensure that their cases are appropriately referred onto other departments such as social care- Patrol large community events throughout the city such the Christmas Market to keep the public safe and be a point of contact- Maintain and work within the City of Edinburgh Council policy Show less
