      In my previous role as House Manager, I directly line managed two Supported Living projects in Northfleet that were next door to each other- both houses provided support and care to learning disabled adults with complex needs. I was responsible for; reporting to the Registered Manager, supervising two staff teams, ensuring I continued to be active and hands-on when it came to supporting residents, ensuring both homes were working in partnership with families and outside professionals.I was also the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Lead for KASBAH, where I was responsible for ensuring PBS as a framework continued to embed itself in KASBAH's services and that staff recognized PBS in their daily practice.Since leaving KASBAH, I have continued to provide sporadic training to staff when called upon. Show less I co-ordinated four different KASBAH projects in the role of Life Skills/House Coordinator; one Independent Living Project and three Supported Living. Within these projects, the emphasis has always been on ensuring the people we support live meaningful and fulfilling lives, as well as ensuring they feel empowered and provided with opportunities and choice. The client groups I have supported within these projects are those with Physical and/or Learning Disabilities (including some with Complex Needs).Within these projects, I have also led Day Services and Respite provisions where I am involved in; referrals, observations and assessments, care and support matrix’s and working in partnership with outside professionals.       During my experience as an Apprentice with KCC/SEAC, I gained invaluable experience working at two different work placements who supported and cared for elderly adults. At Rosewood Care Home, I primarily shadowed the Activities Coordinator where I gained knowledge of Dementia, Care Quality Commission (CQC) and evidencing Care and Support. At Guru Nanak Day Centre, I developed an understanding of Sikhism, Indian culture and tradition, as well as furthering my understanding of care and support needs for the elderly. I gained a Level 2 Diploma during this Apprenticeship. Show less

      Community Support Manager

      I am responsible for managing all one-to-one community support that is provided to adults with Learning Disabilities living in the Bexley borough. I am also responsible for managing the organisation's Individual Service Fund (ISF) framework. I work in partnership with individuals to tailor their support and to identify how best to utilise their budgets given to them by the local authorities.As part of my role within the Senior Leadership Team, I have developed skills and experience in organisational operations such as; developing a new three-year strategy, monthly invoicing to members & organisations, I.T support, facilitating inductions and completing DBS checks.I have jointly led Learning Disability Awareness training sessions which are provided to a variety of networks within the Bexley borough. The training emphasizes on reasonable adjustments for people with a learning disability, including; the importance of easy-read, pro-active planning, awareness of common support barriers & how these can be reduced or eliminated entirely.I lead a Young People's Group for Bexley Mencap members who regularly meet to partake in activities that I have supported them to plan in advance.I oversee all weekly activities, as well as a Life Skills Hub whereby members join to enhance their confidence, form friendships and develop skills they can use both in and out of the community.
