Health Educator and Volunteer Coordinator at Whitman Walker Health

As an AmeriCorps Member with the Washington AIDS Partnership I served as the Health Educator and Volunteer Coordinator at Whitman Walker Health. I administered HIV tests and individual risk assessments both at the walk-in clinic and during outreach events on the mobile testing unit. • Peace Corps

      Jul 2014 - Aug 2016
      Community Health Educator

In my primary role as a Community Health Educator, I performed health education sessions and home visits, in Khmer, to improve maternal health, nutrition, and hygiene. These conversations, coupled with community needs assessments, led to the design and implementation of two USAID funded grants: a sustainable home garden project and the renovation and expansion of latrine facilities at the local High School. Alongside community counterparts I designed and co-facilitated monthly youth development workshops for high school students and teachers focused on: sexual and reproductive health, gender identity, gender equality, human rights, career planning, and project design. In addition to local workshops, I also planned and oversaw three provincial wide youth leadership camps to train and develop the next generation on gender equality, health, and community engagement. • Corporation for National and Community Service

      Jan 2017 - Sept 2017
      Program Associate

At the Corporation for National and Community Service, I was part of a team working on procuring safe, cost effective housing for FEMA Corps Service Members. As part of an agency wide initiative, I designed, built, and managed a collaborative online platform for over 20 internal and external stakeholders. Utilizing SharePoint, I also created an automated digital workflow to standardize administrative tasks and eliminate redundancies for staff making procurement requests. During my time at CNCS I also became certified as a Level I Contracting Officer Representative (COR) which gave me deeper insight into the procurement process. Show less

    • PSI Cambodia

      Apr 2020 - Jan 2021
      Sexual and Reproductive Health Consultant

As the SRH Consultant with PSI/Cambodia, I played a pivotal role supporting project implementation and reporting for both the Promoting Healthy Behaviors Activity and the Women’s Health Project. Promoting Healthy Behaviors is a five-year, USAID-funded, social and behavior change project targeting six key health areas: maternal & child health; nutrition; water, sanitation, and hygiene; tuberculosis; family planning; and malaria. My responsibilities included integrating a gender lens throughout all project activities, supporting COVID-19 response programming, and preparing reports for USAID. The Women’s Health Project is a global project working to increase access to safe abortion and modern methods of contraception. My role included supporting the Sexual and Reproductive Health Director and synthesizing a decade of program data to produce detailed briefs, donor reports, social media posts, and success stories that showcase the impact of the Women’s Health Project.
