  During my tenure at KPMG India as an Executive, I've had extensive experience with statutory audits across various industries. My responsibilities primarily involved collaborating with different audit engagements for statutory audits, group audits, and limited audits of listed, private, and venture capital firms. In practical terms, I engaged in substantive testing of financial statement captions, which involved detailed financial analysis, variance analysis, and analytical reviews. A significant part of my role included performing walkthroughs, testing controls as per Internal Financial Control (IFC) requirements, and ensuring that all documentation adhered to KPMG's stringent standards.I worked closely with the engagement teams to assist in preparing the audit reports and management letters for listed and unlisted companies, which required a keen eye for detail. One aspect I found particularly rewarding was the challenge of ensuring timely reporting of issues and observations, which played a vital role in maintaining quality and consistency in the audit process. On several occasions, I traveled onsite to finalize year-end audits, which not only provided practical exposure but also managed client relations more effectively.My experience also required a collaborative approach, as I often liaised with both onsite and offshore teams, gaining insights from diverse perspectives that enhanced our audit procedures. The culmination of my work was acknowledged when I received a Spot Award for my contributions to the firm's quality agenda, an achievement I take great pride in. This role improved my expertise in various accounting standards, especially US GAAP, IFRS, and SEC reporting, making me well-versed in both domestic and international audit landscapes. Show less
