    • Laurello

      Jul 2023 - now
      Director

The world’s urban population is growing. As more and more people migrate from rural communities toward higher density living, we’re going to need to build more buildings. A lot more buildings. How we build these buildings matters. The world’s construction industries are currently responsible for approximately 40% of the global CO2 emissions, 50% of global resource production, and 33% of global waste. As our broader economy transitions towards a less polluted future, we need to think about what this means for design and construction, and how we can keep up (or even lead the way). This is why in 2023 I created laurello, the manager of the AusEPD Database. The AusEPD database is a free and simple to use tool which allows specifiers and decision makers to easily find, compare and select building products based on their embodied carbon values reported in Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
