  Responder for distress and crisis line for Ottawa and its surrounding regions. I take in calls from distressed callers and allow them to come to their own decisions and solutions without directly advising or counseling them, thus empowering their belief in their own thought processes.I also take in calls from callers in crisis and attempt to deescalate the dangerous situations they are in to one that is more safe and connect them to the right resources for follow up care. I was trained and received my certification in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). Show less
