  My responsibilities were:- improving communication and thus, enhancing the flow of information, views and ideas between the university staff and the mechanical engineering student community- Attending regular Student-Staff Forums where I would raise any concerns, suggestions and issues students had- Conducting regular surveys to help the student voice come to surface and evaluate student satisfaction in different contexts.- Organise 1-to-1 meetings with students to provide a listening ear to those who felt more confident in giving a voice to their thoughts in a more personal setting.   The role and responsibilities of the President include:- Charing Committee Meetings, AGMs and EGMs- Organising and overseeing the running of the society- Overseeing the event planning, management, promotion and delivery- Responsible for event planning from the Health & Safety aspect and risk mitigation- Making decisions regarding the society's strategy in relation to relationships with other societies, communities, institutions, companies or bodies- Supporting the Secretary in ensuring the email account is checked regularly; emails are replied to where necessary and administration is always completed in time- Supporting and overseeing the social media and promotional activities and ensuring that these are completed to high standards- Supporting and overseeing the Treasurer and the financial activities and processes of the society- Together with other committee members, the President is responsible for liaising with LUU about matters arising from the society, this may include queries and complaints- The President has the final say in decision-making regarding any activities, processes, communications, strategy and planning of the society.
