  I was one of three student heads on our school's annual Yearbook committee in charge of creating the school's 12th edition of "Footsteps". I was tasked with leading the journalism department, collecting articles documenting our student's various curricular and extracurricular activities during the year 2020 and 2021.From proofreading articles to noting down the weekly committee meeting notes to writing articles myself, the task entailed a variety of work, allowing me to refine my English skills as well as grow as an individual and a leader. Show less I was a team member and subdepartment head on our school's rookie FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team, only the second team in Singapore to participate in the competition. Over the course of the competition from 2019-2020, we were tasked with designing an industry-scale robot, sourcing material locally to do so, learning and wiring the robot, all while balancing academic work and organizing events to teach STEM to our local community. I was the electrical team lead, and while COVID-19 halted the competition, I learnt a lot from it. I was also selected for the Dean's List Semifinalist Award in the Southern Cross Regional.The following year, adjusting to the pandemic, the competition continued through an online forum. Using the experience from the previous year, we were able to design and develop an improved robot, and this time I took on the role of assembly and electrical head. Our team was able to win the coveted Rookie All-Star Award, given to only a handful of teams globally which would have allowed us to go to the FRC Finals if not for the pandemic situation. Show less
