  As part of the Engineering Direction of AGS, a holding of 11 water utilities in Portugal and 2 in Brazil, Miguel worked in closed contact with utilities and was also involved in R&D projects focused on operational efficiency improvement, water losses reduction (real and apparent losses), asset management, water-energy nexus, and tools/software implementation. Main activities:- Philippines | Assistance for Enhancing Capabilities of Non-Revenue Water Management to the system of Manila. Collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency.- Chile | Non Revenue Water Project in 2 utilities: Diagnosis, performance assessment, NRW manual, intervention plan support, monthly assessment meetings, weekly operational meetings. Tools implementation and support.- Water Losses Control in 5 Portuguese utilities: Implementation and monitoring of an action plan to reduce water losses, operational (field) activities focused - active leakage detection activities, acoustic detection, pressure testing, step-testing, sub-zoning, others- Water loss and energy efficiency management program in 6 Portuguese utilities: Training, support the development of water losses and energy efficiency management plans by the utilities, development of support tools- Asset management (IAM): support the development of IAM plans by the utilities- Real-time monitoring and anomaly detection: Software implementation, including databases access (SQL), monitoring of flow and pressure results to support NRW reduction- Support the development, implementation and/or usage of tools to increase operational efficiency: Work orders, Business Intelligence, Performance Assessment (including operational KPI), Customer meters management, Real time anomaly detection, Water balance, Energy balance.- Improving operational efficiency through the use of hydraulic model (EPANET) Show less
