      The Youth Cancer Services (YCS) receives federal, state and territory funding to provide specialist, age-appropriate treatment and support for young cancer patients aged 15 - 25. As the sole patient representative on the Strategic Advisory Group for the National Youth Cancer Services (YCS), I represent young cancer patients and provide input int the peak governance group involved in planning and priority setting for the YCS. As a member of the Queensland YCS Youth Advisory Group, I advocate for and participate in the planning of clinical and support services for young Queensland cancer patients.       IntoMed is an internal medicine interest society, offering networking and professional development opportunities for Griffith University medical students.My roles and responsibilities as President included:- Overseeing club governance and operations, including strategic direction, performance, finances and compliance.- Chairing club meetings, including the AGM.- Setting delegations of authority, which empowered team members to lead individual projects and contribute to IntoMed. As secretary of IntoMed, I was responsible for club administration and communications, including liaising with external professional bodies on the club's behalf. I provided the voice of first year students to the society’s leaders, whilst assisting the club executive to run in-personal events.

      Health Consumer Representative

      My work as a health consumer representative at Children's Health Queensland allows the patient voice to be heard during key decision-making discussions. I sit on both the Family Centred Care Committee (FCCC) and the COVID-19 Business Response Committee. Both of these committees are Tier 1 governance committees which report directly to the CHQ Executive Team. The FCCC works to determine the strategic direction for and leadership of consumer engagement activity across Children's Health Queensland (CHQ). With the FCCC's oversight and support, Children's Health Queensland has become the first paediatric healthcare provider in the Southern Hemisphere to be awarded Gold Certification for Excellence in Person-Centred Care by Planetree International. The FCCC has specific reporting responsibilities to the Patient Safety and Quality Committee regarding the progression of work related to the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.The COVID-19 Business Response Committee, plans and reviews the health services response to the COVID-19 pandemic. I serve as the sole youth voice present during committee meetings, working to advocate for the health and wellbeing of young patient and their families. Show less

      AMSA is the peak representative body for Australian medical students. It is a vibrant student-run organisation that represents, informs and connects all of Australia’s 17,000 medical students. AMSA has 6,000 active members, 350 volunteers and an annual budget of $1.5 million. AMSA is governed by a Board which consists of both non-executive and executive directors. The Board is responsible for ensuring that AMSA is run sustainably, in line with its strategic goals and in the interests of its membership and other key stakeholders. As chair, I was responsible for leading the board’s ten directors and connecting the board to the broader organisation. During my term, I oversaw several key milestones for the organisation, including the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Australia Medical Association (AMA) and a constitutional review. This was alongside navigating the company through the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. Show less
