Coordination with ALL parties was paramount to address the staging of lane closures along I-95, major events at FAU (which included the opening of the new football stadium) and a visit to the area by President Obama. Pensacola, FL Specialty Project Administrator/Emergency Response Team. The scope includes restoration of traffic to the east bound Pensacola Bay Bridge. This restoration project was a result of 27 barges that were unmoored during Hurricane Sally, striking the bridge causing substantial damage and failure of several spans. This work includes safely securing and removing damaged spans, repairs and replacement of footings, columns, caps, beams, and decks as well as the replacement of 14 complete foundation units with an additional 84- 30” solid precast piles up to 162’ long. Demolition and replacement of 14 existing precast Pier Cap, Column and Footing Substructure Units, referred to as Trophies, installation of the modified 160-ton precast Trophy Substructure units. Demolition and installation of 67- 72” Florida I-beams with a span length of 150’. In addition, work includes demolition and installation of 23 replacement Precast Pedestrian Walkway Girder sections and removal/ replacement of existing electrical components for lighting/ITS equipment. Responsibilities include coordination, scheduling and maintenance of inspection and support staff. Work closely with project management addressing all project related concerns and issues, as well possible solutions.
