      Certified Floor Auditor Level 1

Several months into the COVID-19 pandemic I started working for Tessy Plastics as a machine operator producing Abbott COVID-19 rapid PCR test kits. I quickly learned all the machines in my area and completed a training class and test for the CFA level 1 position. As a CFA Level 1, I was in a first-line management position in my area. I ran a variety of machines and oversaw the break and lunch schedules in my department. I was responsible for completing legal documents such as a DHR (device history record) for each product lot. I ensured quality control by personally checking three full kits from each lot produced, documenting their condition, and saving examples for FDA inspection. I coordinated with automation engineers to fix machine issues in a timely fashion so they would impact our production time as little as possible. I also made suggestions to automation engineers, and the CEO for improving our safety and productivity and saving the company money. Each shift we produced up to four lots, approximately 26 pallets per lot. Test kits were shipped domestically and internationally and netted the company 1.25 to 1.5 million dollars in profit per lot. My team was the most productive of the 4 shifts working in our production area. While I was there, I started learning several other areas of the business including injection molding, product wrappers, and PCR tube assembly. These are all cleanroom environments that require special PPE. I was always looking for learning experiences and advancement opportunities. Show less
