  This highly competitive 19 month international development program, within Novartis Technical Operations, aims to develop cross-functional skills and an understanding of the pharmaceutical value chain through three rotations across manufacturing, quality and operational excellence. The program includes extensive training in areas including, but not limited to, leadership, project management, cross cultural communication and Lean Six Sigma.The assignments are based at the following production sites: Barleben, Germany (Solids) for MS&T; Unterach, Austria (Aseptics) for Quality; Kundl, Austria (Anti-Infectives) for Operational Excellence. The automated prioritisation of batches for testing reduces the need for manual planning.- Creation of a batch-release tool that allows a Qualified Person to get detailed information about all batches in queue for release- Mapped the Environmental Monitoring process in the Microbiology lab and suggested efficiency improvements based on process times, feedback from associates and Lean principles- Worked with Supply Chain to develop KPIs for key Quality processes Show less The key tasks and projects during this rotation included:- Initiated a primary packaging material replacement project with calculated savings of EUR400k/year- Project lead for a shipping verification study with the purpose of ensuring all shipped products had sufficient structural integrity to withstand the stress of transport.
