Morningstar, Inc., 2000–presentInformation Products Group, 2014–presentTeam LeadAs Team Lead for the Information Products group, the challenge is producing time-sensitive materials on deadline, and turning complex data into great communication design. Design’s goal is to improve the quality of the user experience through design, information presentation, and flow This is accomplished by creating engaging, attractive, and user-friendly pieces. These products include newsletters (print and digital iPad edition, reports, factsheets, whitepapers, etc. We work with developers, project managers, product managers, and business owners to develop our reports and publications. After a design reorganization I transitioned my former clients to their new designers and worked to build strong relationships with the Reports team’s new clients. I did this by opening up the dialogue between the analysts and design, providing transparency of our workflow to the research team and working with them to create more efficient processes for both design and research. I developed typography standards for our team’s templates, built the files in the most efficient way to produce the observers. This work has continued with the new template we are releasing this quarter.Job highlight: Developed a process to create our newsletters in a more efficient, templatized manner while developing strong communications with the research team to set/meet and exceed everyone’s expectations.
