      Break Isolation Cafe was a not-for-profit initiative of the 'No Border Network', to ease the integration of incoming refugees to the city of Marburg. My work here involved organising monthly meetings between newly arrived refugees, university students, local political groups and citizens and mentoring some refugees to connect them to local resource persons. I also served as social media manager for the group, and helped to source local sponsorships for our monthly events.

      I focus on reducing inequalities and improving equity and access in post-secondary education, by mitigating linguistic barriers to foster Indigenous students’ agency and self-awareness as communicators. I am currently working on establishing KISS-DU’s Centre for Writing and Communication (CWC), where I will provide strategic leadership on inclusive, multilingual programming & pedagogy, working alongside academic leadership, instructors, campus partners, and students to ensure that our indigenous students have the communication skills they need to succeed in their scholarly activities & future careers. As an integral part of KISS' SDG Centre, I also contribute to several programs primarily around Sustainable Development Goals #4, #5, #10 and #17. Over 7 years at KISS, I have developed my expertise in digital and editorial communications, encompassing project implementation, research, design, editing, and documentation for print and digital publications, in addition to collaborating closely with the KISS Digital team to provide social media content & updates on relevant stakeholders. My work spans diverse domains, including indigenous rights, gender equity, and the UN's sustainable development agenda. We endeavour to support local farmers, sustainability and food security initiatives, by designing our menus around local and seasonal produce, and by providing skill-training and employment to local youth to promote sustainable local employment.       I've been fortunate to have been a part of the Kalinga Fellowship for two years now, working to solve the challenge of how society can collectively can play a vital role in tackling the issues of Human Trafficking and Gender Based Violence in South Asia. The Kalinga Fellowship is an annual workshop co-founded by BRIDGE, Bridge Institute, FXB India Suraksha and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences. In 2021-22, I was honoured to be selected as a Fellow in addition to serving as an Empathy Team Member. In 2022-23, I was part of the 4-person Secretariat Team that helped to organise logistics and other technical requirements for the programme. Show less The Kalinga Fellowship is an interactive collaborative workshop that unites progressive leaders from business, government, and civil society to facilitate breakthroughs in thinking and action in the combatting of the trafficking of women and children. The program is supported by the National Commission for Women & National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (Government of India), Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), FXB India Suraksha, UN Women and Prajwala. As a Producer for the 2020-21 session, I assisted the organising team of the Fellowship as they embraced a virtual mode in order to adapt to the Covid-19 pandemic.
