  I have been a part time musician since I was in my teens. I have performed with a large variety of groups: everything from Rock'n'Roll cabaret bands to Symphony Orchestras, Old Time Dance bands to Musical Theatre. I studied drums and percussion with Linda Pimentel, Paul Walker, and Bruce Robin. I also was fortunate enough to attend Afrocubanismo at the Banff Centre in 1994 where I studied with Enrique Plá of Groupo Irakere and members of Los Muñequitos de Matanzas. I am currently a regular member of The Herb Hicks Jazz Quartet and the Lethbridge Big Band. I have performed with the following groups:New West Theatre, Lethbridge Musical Theatre, Center Stage Theatre, Marquee Theatre, Lethbridge Senior Centre fundrasiers, The Lethbridge Big Band, The Lethbridge Symhony Orchestra, U of L Wind Orchestra, U of L Jazz Ensemble, U of L Theatre and Dramatic Arts Productions, U of L Percussion Ensemble, W.E.E.D.S, The Soup, The Raymond Canadians, The Frankly Brothers, Mr. 550, Salsa Brava, and others. I have been awarded 3 City of Lethbridge awards and 2 Provincial Achievement awards for musical performance with the Jazz Combo "Prime Time". This group won the Jazz Combo Class at the national level twice and finished third once. Show less

  I have gone back to working in my first career! I started at the Yates as a casual Theatre Technician in Sept and I have been enjoying getting caught up on 25 years of technological improvements and I am reconnecting with the performing arts community in the City. Doesn't get much better than that!
