  As an engineering co-op on the 2015 VA Washers sytem team, I worked on the New Product Introduction phase developing a time efficient spray algorithm. I met and exceeded my efficiency goal by improving the overall cycle time by 8 minutes. I also developed a new laundry load mass sensing algorithm using LabVIEW for the TRIAC drive used on the 2015 VA Washing Machine. This algorithm could accurately assess the mass of the laundry load without using a load cell which, in turn, reduced the cost of each unit by up to three dollars.Along with those two projects, I improved the detergent drawer dispenser geometry with a new cost-out design and lead the Design Guidance build team to fit current production models with prototype parts and hardware for testing and optimization.   Electrical Systems Intern

  I worked as an on the Electrical Systems team for the 2015 Hybrid Water Heater program designing and testing a new inverter board for the units power supply. The addition of the inverter board improved the energy efficiency of the unit by almost 200% and helped qualify the unit for Energy Star certification.I also developed a communication circuit board for appliance testing purposes. The board allowed communication between an appliance and multiple external components simultaneously including computers, wi-fi modules, etc. The board is compatible with all of the product lines and is currently being used to benefit numerous testing operations.
