The frisbee launcher was a product developed in my first year engineering projects class. The project won first place in the fall design expo 2021 for our division. My team and I wanted to create a machine that would aim and toss frisbees to aid in athletic training. The mechanism itself has other possible uses such as training repetitive motion for physical therapy, or even possible military applications. As this was a large project, my team and I had to plan and work efficiently to meet our deadline. I worked primarily on the top plate, from modeling, to prototyping and the final project, as well as assisting in other places such as team management and the constructing the frame. A large undertaking in this project for me was learning Solidworks, as we all had parts assigned to design independently. With help from my team members I was able to quickly gain an understanding of the program. I have since developed the skills more and use them to this day. This project was valuable for me, not only for building team skills, but also personal growth and confidence with engineering software and prototyping. Mostrar menos The rover was the first project developed with my team. The goal was to create a robot that would stay in a straight line and drop a package on a detected target. My team and I were given a short timeframe, so we had to be creative. I worked on making the wheels, axel, and gearing system. While other team members designed the circuitry and body. I also worked a lot in last minute troubleshooting, as we had to straighten its path and implement friction to slow it down. Our rover was the first to successfully complete the challenge. Throughout this project I learned how to make last minute adjustments under pressure. Mostrar menos

      Research and development engineering intern

During my time at Point Designs I created initial designs and prototype for an automated silicon injection molding system with an aim to reduce ergonomic stress involved in manufacturing. I utilized Onshape CAD software for design, and Arduino IDE for motor control.

      Mechanical engineering intern

Through my internship with FTL I was able to work alongside talented designers, programmers, and manufacturers to aid in CAD design and assembly for life science projects within the company. I designed, tested, and iterated multiple complex parts in SOLIDWORKS, used PrusaSlicer to slice and 3D print many unique parts for production, processed, cleaned, assembled, and tested 245+ total system parts, set up 68 individual Samsung tablets to install custom app software, performed audio analysis tests using REW software, communicated with team members to identify project needs and took initiative to address issues when they arose.
