  I work in Professor Darin Brown’s electroencephalogram (EEG) Neuroscience research lab. As a research assistant, I help prep the participants, gel electrodes, and confirm the electrode signals are reading correctly.

  Katz and manne research institute summer scholar

  Through the Katz and Manne Summer Scholar Program, I collaborated with pediatric gastroenterologist Dr. Joseph Runde to study a dietary therapy for Crohn’s disease patients, called the Crohn’s Disease Exclusion Diet. We conducted a retrospective chart review to evaluate diet efficacy using Lurie Crohn’s Disease patients as our subject pool. I presented my research at a poster symposium and am currently working on a manuscript. In addition to research experience, I gained valuable insights shadowing in inpatient and outpatient settings.
